West Ham will be prioritising to strengthen our defence this summer, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the situation at present.
Following the appointment of Julen Lopetegui as the new Head Coach, who has succeeded David Moyes to work alongside Tim Steidten at the club, it is widely anticipated that there will be a significant overhaul in the playing staff as we commence our new era under the former Spain and Real Madrid boss.

“We will look to sign another centre back and possibly a third depending on the future of Nayef Aguerd,” stated Ex. “One of the first things the new manager identified as a priority was to resolve the Moroccan’s future. It is felt that the player wanted to move back to France or possibly to the Saudi league and if the club could get back most of what they paid for the player this would be sanctioned.
“As we have reported for months now Max Kilman will be a top target. The manager worked with him at Wolves and is said to want to bring the captain with him to London.
“The 27 year old is likely to cost around £45m and Wolves will have to give around 20 percent of that to Maidenhead the club that they signed the player from. Other centre backs who are also expected to be in the radar include Jacob Greaves of Hull, Harwood-Bellis of Manchester City, Trevoh Chalobah of Chelsea, Oumar Sole of RB Salzburg, Loubadhe Abakar Sylla a 21 year old centre back of Strasbourg, Logan Costa of Toulouse. and Zeno Debast of Anderlecht. I
“It is also thought that Steidten could explore the German market too. Steidten did like Jonathan Tah and Piero Hincapié of his former team Bayer Leverkusen but with the club playing champions league football these players will be harder to sign.”
