West Ham are reportedly set to battle their rivals for the signature of an English striker.

After multiple failed attempts, this has to be the transfer window that West Ham replace Michail Antonio. He’s slowly been phased out and now it’s commonly agreed that he should be no more than a squad player/super sub.

Securing a top quality striker is far from easy though and it’s arguably the one position they have to get absolutely spot on when recruiting. In order to find the right man, they’re going to have to take a risk on someone, but the latest player they’ve been linked with is a massive one.

The now 26-year-old Tammy Abraham was once one of England’s biggest talents. Everyone thought he would go on to be a world beater, but this never quite came to fruition.

After a few impressive seasons on loan, he never really improved at Chelsea. However, his first season in Italy after leaving saw him score 17 Serie A goals for Roma. Unfortunately, he didn’t follow up on this as he only scored 8 goals the following campaign. Now, this term, he has been suffering from awful injuries, something that was a concern while he was at Stamford Bridge, and he has only played 8 league games due to this.

Ultimately he can be hit or miss, but multiple Premier League clubs are willing to take a chance on him according to teamTALK. Alongside West Ham, there’s Tottenham, Aston Villa, Bournemouth and Leicester City who are all contemplating a move.
