Jonathan Lee > A solid win over a team I suspect few of us will be sad to see relegated given our history, decent performances all over the pitch and now over the magic 40 points!!  We will need to up it a gear or two though over the next half dozen matches, but we have the quality to deliver. It will be interesting to watch.

Fabianski – 8 made three top class saves including an important tip over from a potential headed equaliser;

Coufal – 7.5 another all-energy display but will kick himself for not converting a one on one second half opportunity;

Diop – 7 after a wobbly start grew into the match and a well taken header for our second;

Dawson – 7.5 growing into a firm fans’ favourite to the extent we didn’t miss Ogbonna, another solid ‘they shall not pass’ performance;

Cresswell – 7 another consistent display with a decent corner delivery for Diop’s header and good balls out of defence into midfield;

Johnson – 8 worked tirelessly up and down the left wing in an impressive shift plus an important block to help stop an equaliser;

Soucek – 6.5 a quieter game for him but one important block made second half when the opposition threatened;

Rice – 7 took the penalty very coolly and once again led the team by example;

Bowen – 6.5 laid on the assist leading to the pen and put in a good effort when leading the line second half although rarely breached the away defence;

Lingard – 8 another electric performance, winning the pen and giving us that important edge going forward;

Lanzini – 6.5 a decent first half linking with Bowen and Lingard but less effective second half as he dropped deeper until subbed;

Subs:

Benrahma – 6 (82 mins for Lingard) didn’t see much of the ball but provided a very neat assist for Fredericks at the end;

Noble – 6.5 (62 mins for Lanzini) came on to cement the win and put in a faultless performance protecting the defence;

Fredericks – (92 mins for Johnson) not on long enough to mark but took a rare goal ever so well.
