West Ham came back to draw 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage in the final friendly before the Premier League returns in 9 days.

It was a game which our Hammers started slowly and was marred by an early injury to Gianluca Scamacca. following a heavy challenge from former player Issa Diop.

The Italian was forced off to leave all connected with the club anxiously waiting if it was more precautionary than serious injury that forced the hand of David Moyes.

Carlos Vinicius opened the scoring for the hosts just before the break which seems to kick start Moyes side and halftime team talk, as West Ham emerged with far more intent after half time.

It was just after the hour mark when we were level, thanks to Jarrod Bowen to give everyone a lift as we sought after an equaliser.

Although not the most memorable of performances or matches, it was a relief to see our Hammers so grit and determination to turn around the game and look the much better side in the second half.

The question marks and focus now will no though be on the fitness of our star striker Scamacca, with an update on the situation set to be provided by ExWHUEmployee on Patreon once it has been established.

Host of The West Ham Way Podcast Dave Walker gave his post match thoughts on our last game prior to the Premier League restart in just over a week.

“Bloody typical. I couldn’t believe it when Scamacca went off, we literally cannot buy a bit of luck at the moment. Let’s hope it’s nothing too serious. On a positive note, it was good to see Jarrod on the scoresheet”
