West Ham are hoping to conclude the appointment of a new Football / Technical Director soon to push ahead on building the team for the new upcoming season.

Our famed club insider and Podcast co-host ExWHUEmployee has reported on Patreon that there are a number of candidates in the running for the position, with it reported previously that Paul Mitchell of Monaco was being considered, with Mitchell said to be close with Sporting Director Mark Noble.

It however since has been revealed that Tim Steidten, previously of Bayer Leverkusen and highly sought after by others, is now the emerging front runner for the post, with the club hoping to conclude within the coming days.

“Steidten is said to be leading the race to be appointed to the director of football position following rounds of successful interviews,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “The club wish to speak to a couple more candidates before making their final decision however. They hope to conclude this soon so they can get to work on this transfer window.”

Ex has also exclusively revealed that Steidten was in attendance for our historic European cup winning night in Prague over a week ago, with the candidate also speaking to our manager David Moyes.

“Steidten was in Prague to watch the final, Moyes has met with him too.” added Ex. “Moyes and Noble will discuss whether Steidten is the man they want following further discussions with another candidate.”

Ex will be keeping fans fully up to date on the progress of the appointment plus all other club matters on Patreon.
