West Ham’s preference this summer is to keep Gianluca Scamacca at the club, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The Italian striker, who joined West Ham last summer in a deal worth circa £35m from Sassuolo, has seen much speculation surrounding his future at the club in recent months.

His first campaign in East London didn’t overly go to plan, with the Hammers number 7 having sustained a knee injury which effectively ruled him out for half of the season.

There have been various reports circulating that a move back to Italy this summer could well be realised, with Roma in particular heavily linked as they reportedly seek a season loan arrangement.

In light of the ongoing speculation, ExWHUEmployee has advised that West Ham have no desire to loan out the Italian international and in fact would rather him to remain at the club beyond this transfer window.

“The club do not want to sell Scamacca,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“While they certainly do not want to loan him out. To be tempted to cash in then an offer would have to be in the region of what we paid for him.

“So at this stage, it’s looking more likely that Scamacca will be our player next season.”

West Ham are now expected to be busy in the transfer window as we look to strengthen following the imminent sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.
