West Ham are looking to secure a deal to bring Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria to East London this summer, ExWHUEmployee has reported.

The club are very much in the market for a new defensive midfielder, with Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal this summer nearing its conclusion with his medical scheduled for today.

Zakaria has been identified as a target for the club, with our Podcast co-host and club insider Ex reporting that new Technical Director Tim Steidten is a huge admirer of the Swiss international.

The 26 year old, who spent last season on loan to Chelsea, is reported to be keen on the move having settled well to life in London, with West Ham now hopeful a deal can be struck with Italian giant Juventus.

“West Ham are said to be stepping up their interest in Denis Zakaria, as we look to secure a loan with a permanent option,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon on Wednesday. “Technical Director Tim Steidten is a big fan of the player.”

Our Hammers are set to be active in the market following the Rice sale, with the club eager to build on a trophy winning campaign last season. Although pressure will be on to have a far more positive domestic league campaign.
