West Ham’s highly rated academy player Amara Nallo has signed for Liverpool in an deal with an undisclosed fee.

The 16-year-old centre-back was regarded as one for the future for our Hammers and has even been described as a “Rolls Royce”.

That was the verdict of West Ham legend Carlton Cole, who told Metro: “I would describe Amara as a Rolls Royce of a centre-back.

“He has a great left foot and is elegant when he moves with the ball. He can play the ball with both feet and has been working on his heading as well. He’s a player who has a high ceiling.”

While West Ham have been subject to criticism for letting prolific youngsters leave the club, it is understood the Irons were not keen for the player to leave.

ExWHUEmployee expressed his disappointment in seeing another young player exit the club: “ It’s always a shame when highly rated youngsters leave the club to join other academy’s, but of course there is no guarantee they will make it.

“Time will tell whether we end up regretting not getting him tied down to a contract.”

Nallo was set to be given a long-term deal with West Ham once he turned 17, just three-months away. So it is seen as a huge blow to see the Academy star depart for Liverpool.
