West Ham summer target Ian Maatsen is open to a move to the London Stadium, it has been reported.

The Chelsea left back, who was heavily linked with a move to east London throughout the transfer window, saw a loan with option to buy offer from Burnley accepted by the west London club.

The player however is understood to have rejected the move to Turf Moor – where he previously spend a loan spell, and was more keen on a move across London to play under David Moyes, according to the Evening Standard.

Maatsen was seen as a replacement for Aaron Cresswell, who was looking set to depart for much of the summer, however a move to Wolves failed to materialise.

With Maatsen now rejecting the move to Burnley, it poses the question as to whether West Ham will revisit the deal in the January, when the window reopens.

Should Cresswell depart, then a move for Maatsen would be widely expected – especially if the left back fails to mail a regular place in the Chelsea team before the new year arrives.
