West Ham may not unveil the appointment of Julen Lopetegui until the end of the season out of respect for David Moyes.

Many were concerned that David Moyes would not get the opportunity to say a proper goodbye to the West Ham fans. While it hasn’t always been the most loving of relationships, it is one that’s seen some of the best times for both the manager and the supporters.

Thankfully, the club have enough decorum to have announced his departure before the Hammers final home game of the season. However, there is still one question that remains unanswered and that’s who will be our manager next season?

It’s widely accepted that Julen Lopetegui is edging closer and closer to the job but this is not official yet. In order to stay respectful to one of the most successful managers in their history, as well as to not create further bad PR regarding his departure, The Standard reports that the Irons will not officially announce the appointment of their next gaffer until the end of the season.

On one hand this could make the club look better for any future managers, on the other hand it still leaves fans relatively in the unknown which isn’t great for dealing with negativity. Hopefully the supporters can get fully behind Moyes and give him the send off he deserves.
