West Ham remain in talks with Jarrod Bowen over a new contract at the club, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update on the situation.
Bowen has been a vital cog in our Hammers’ excellent start to the new season, already scoring 3 goals in the opening 5 Premier League matches played, which has had many in the game call for his inclusion once again in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Having signed for the club back in 2019 from Hull City, the Irons forward is now regarded as one of the most important players in David Moyes’ side, and with his contract expiring in 2 years time, the pressure is now somewhat mounting to tie Bowen down to a new and improved deal.
As has been reported by ExWHUEmployee previously, the club have been in dialogue with the player and his representatives to try and reach an agreement, with it now being a top priority following the closure of the summer transfer window.
Ex has now advised that the offers to date are falling short of the expectation from Bowens side, although there is hope that the club will be able to table an acceptable proposal to conclude the talks.
“The Jarrod Bowen contract situation is still that talks are ongoing,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast. “At this stage, the offerfrom the club falls short of what Bowen and his team would expect.
“Its understandable due to his importance, that he wants to be one of the top earners. It is hoped that as talks continue that something will be agreed, but the club need to improve on what has been offered so far.”
Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of the talks as they develop further on The West Ham Way Patreon.
