West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen is close to signing a long term contract, with ExWHUEmployee providing details surrounding a release clause.

Bowen has been in stunning form so far this season, having scored 5 goals in 7 games thus far – something that has been recognised with the player being recalled the England squad for the upcoming international round of matches.

The looming situation of his current Hammers contract has been a hot talking point amongst all connected with the club, with many fearing a similar situation to Declan Rice was set to unfold, with clubs including Liverpool and Arsenal said to be very keen on the former Hull City player.

However it has now been reported by ExWHUEmployee that a new long term deal is ‘very close’ to being finalised, with Bowen set to commit his long-term future to east London.

“The deal is expected to be a long term deal giving the club complete control over the player’s future,” reported our club insider on The West Ham Way Patreon.

It has also been reported by some other outlets that the deal would include a release clause, which in-turn and understandably caused concern amongst the fan base.

However, Ex has stated that there will in fact be no clause included in the deal, with Bowen set to be made the clubs top earner – recognition for his importance to our Hammers as we look to push on and grow further as a club with more future success.

“We have just received confirmation that due to the significant increase in wages there is in fact no release clause set to be included in Bowen’s new deal,” added Ex. “We believe the new deal will make him the highest earner at the club and therefore these increased wage offering meant that the club could agree a deal without the clause!

“As we have said however the deal still needs to be officially signed before the club can announce it but it has been described as very very close by our top source.”

Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the progress of the situation as it develops further on The West Ham Way Patreon.
