Vladimir Coufal is reportedly demanding a better contract or he will force a move away from West Ham.

Since joining the Hammers, Coufal has been exactly what you would expect a West Ham player to be. His hard work, determination and willingness to do the dirty work are unmatched by anyone else and this has led to him becoming an absolute fan favourite.

Admittedly, he had a somewhat inconsistent last season, but he has been back to his usual self this campaign and has become crucial to David Moyes.

In a shock twist of events though, the Czech international is apparently “extremely unhappy” at West Ham due to his current deal, The Sun has reported.

The Hammers recently extended his stay via a clause in his contract which now expires in 2025.  The 31 year old apparently wants a more long-term contract and a wage increase if he is to stay at the London Stadium.

While this seems extremely out of character for someone who is usually a perfect professional, it comes shortly after the wage bill was leaked where Coufal was revealed to be one of the lowest paid players out of the whole first team, earning just 35k a week. Considering he is a nailed-on starter, it would be understandable that he would want to be more in line with his teammates.

Even so, it really does not sound like our right-back at all – he is not the type to kick up a fuss. If it is true, ExWHUEmployee will be sure to let us all know on The West Ham Way Patreon but, for now, it is hard to imagine someone who has been seen getting the bus to training being that bothered about money.
