West Ham are said to be just days away from opening talks for Leeds United reject.

Wilfried Gnonto was one of the big talents in the Premier League last season. The youngster managed 6 goal involvements in his breakthrough campaign and big things were expected of him.

When Leeds got relegated though, he tried to force a move away from Elland Road. He was so desperate to leave that he went public about it, causing outrage amongst their fans. Much to his dismay, a move never materialised and he has found himself only starting a handful of games in the Championship.

Unsurprisingly, both the club and Gnonto are eager to go their separate ways. Despite the issues, he is still a massive prospect and the Peacocks are expected to demand a massive £30 million for the winger.

Our man in the know, ExWHUEmployee, revealed West Ham’s interest in the Italian a little while back and journalist Dean Jones now believes that the Hammers are about to open talks with Leeds.

However, the Irons are set to face competition from London rivals Fulham. Their limited budget may make things a bit more difficult, but West Ham have the lure of European football. Given that Gnonto has a clear ambition to play at the highest level, this could make all the difference in signature.

While his attitude may raise questions, his potential certainly does not. The 20 year old could go on to be one of Europe’s top players, but he needs to be put on the right path and there is no one better suited to help him than David Moyes.
