West Ham are interested in signing former Tottenham wonder-kid, according to reports.

So far this window, there has been a bit of a theme arising with West Ham being linked to a number of current and former Tottenham players. Eric Dier (who has somehow pulled off a move to Bayern Munich), Jack Clarke, and now Marcus Edwards have all been tipped for a move to the London Stadium.

The 25 year old winger was once expected to be the next big thing for England. Unfortunately, he never hit the heights that were expected, but after 6 years in Portugal he could be about to return to his home country.

Since joining Vitoria SC and, more recently, Sporting Lisbon, the winger has had some impressive stats. This season alone he has 7 goal involvements in just 15 league games. His impressive form has garnered attention back in England with West Ham considering a move for him, The Sun report.

As everyone knows, the Hammers’ attack has been stripped to its bones thanks to injuries and AFCON, leaving them in urgent need of some additions this window.

Edwards has a good amount of pace and is excellent on the ball. He is also extremely versatile with the ability to play anywhere across the front line which could make signing him more cost effective.

Obviously, he has come a long way since his Tottenham days, proving himself not only in Portugal but also in Europe by putting in some massive performances in both the Champions League and Europa League.

It is unknown what the Portuguese outfit might demand for him but, given their track record, it could be a hefty sum. He does suit exactly what David Moyes will be looking for, and the fact he helps fulfil the homegrown criteria could make this one to watch.
