There is much speculation at present over the future of David Moyes, with the bookies making big shifts on the odds on who could potentially take the reigns.

Its understandable given the horrendous form, results and overall performance levels in east London, with doubts now significantly increasing over the future of Moyes, despite only last season lifting the first major trophy for West Ham in 43 years.

However, it cannot be ignored that the domestic form was awful, and it appears its very much the case again – and now the bookmakers have provided their current stance on the situation, with Mark Noble touted as a potential temporary appointment.

Noble And Cooper Well In The Race

“Former West Ham captain Mark Noble could potentially replace Moyes on an interim basis and his odds have been slashed from 16/1 into just 7/2 with the bookies. If the former midfielder went on to do a good job with the Hammers, he would surely be offered the job on a full-time basis.

He knows the club inside out and would have the support of the entire fan base from day one. However, Noble does not have anything in the way of coaching experience, while the fact he is serving as West Ham’s sporting director suggests he is not especially interested in a post-playing career on the training pitch. Steve Cooper’s sacking by Nottingham Forest has seen him emerge as a 5/1 shot for the role. The Welshman has been out of the dugout for almost two months and seems to be linked with almost every Premier League managerial vacancy at present.”

Potter And Still The Leading Contenders

“Graham Potter is the 15/8 favourite with the bookies to be the next permanent manager at the London Stadium. Things did not work out at Chelsea, but Potter demonstrated his considerable coaching acumen during his time in charge of Brighton & Hove Albion. Indeed, the Seagulls’ subsequent success under Roberto De Zerbi would not have been possible had his predecessor not laid such solid foundations.

Potter is biding his time before getting back in the dugout, but the West Ham job may well prove too attractive to refuse at this stage. Due to his Football Manager-playing past, Will Still has become well known in England without ever having managed a first team there. But the 31-year-old is proving that he is an excellent coach in real life, with his Reims side sitting eighth in the Ligue 1 standings. Still supported West Ham as a kid and he has gone on record to say that he dreams of managing the club one day. Some would see this as a left-field pick, but his price of 3/1 suggests otherwise.”
