West Ham must come from a goal down if we are to advance to the Europa League quarter finals tonight.
Our Hammers host SC Freiburg in the 2nd leg of the last-16 round and a currently trailing 1-0 after a disappointing 1st leg defeat in Germany, however there is hope that being back in London will provide the perfect atmosphere to turn the tide.
It’s been a very indifferent period for the club since the turn of the year, with there seemingly a real struggle to find some consistency, although a win later would be seen as a huge life as we enter the business end of the season.
David Moyes has found himself under pressure of late, with speculation surrounding his future a regular topic amongst the press. Tonight presents an opportunity to lift the mood significantly in east London.
The West Ham Way Podcast host Dave Walker has admitted that the concern centres around how we start tonight, with it widely regarded that West Ham must adopt a much quicker and aggressive approach.
The Podcast host was talking ahead of the game and says the club simply must get it right and deliver.
“The first goal is so important tonight,” stated Walker. “Which is why we have to be on it straight away, I don’t want to see us sitting back as usual, especially against a bang average Freiburg side.
“Moyes has to get this right and the players have to turn up tonight, no excuses. Anything other than a quarter final to look forward to will be unacceptable.”
