West Ham left back Aaron Cresswell was full of praise for teammate Danny Ings after his excellent cameo and goal versus Burnley helped the Hammers come back from two goals down to pick up a point against the Clarets.

Ings has struggled for form and been unable to get regular minutes since his move to West Ham last January. On Sunday, in his substitute appearance, Ings looked like a man full of confidence and certainly did his utmost to prove why he deserves more opportunities in the Hammers front line.

He had a goal disallowed for a controversial offside call on fellow striker Michail Antonio, he scored a well taken goal in second half injury time before another opportunity saw him narrowly miss, rattling the crossbar in the dying moments of the game.

Speaking to the club’s official website after the Burnley game, veteran left back Aaron Cresswell heaped the praises on his teammate Ings’ performance, Cresswell said: “The goal Danny scored against Burnley is typical of what he is about, he is certainly one of the best finishers we have at the club.” The goal against Burnley was only Ings’ 4th goal in 45 appearances for West Ham, granted, not many of these have been starts.

Speaking in his interview post match teammate Aaron Cresswell highlighted how as a striker it can take one goal for you to gain momentum after going through a difficult run in front of goal: “A lot of people don’t see the hard work he puts in behind the scenes, and as a striker you just need that one goal to gain momentum and then take it into the next game. Hopefully the goal will do him the world of good.”
