West Ham are reportedly keen to capitalise on Nottingham Forest’s point deduction by signing their star player.

After years of not taking it seriously enough, the Premier League are finally starting to clamp down on those who break FFP regulations. First it was Everton and now Nottingham Forest have been hit by a points deduction.

Despite being at the complete opposite end of the table though, West Ham could benefit from the latter’s sanctions – particularly if they do end up getting relegated.

GIVEMESPORT has reported that West Ham have entered the race for Morgan Gibbs-White this Summer alongside bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

The versatile forward has 8 goal involvements in the league for a struggling Forest side and could be a sensational addition to the Hammers’ squad.

Considering he cost them £42 million when he signed from Wolves, you would expect that he will cost considerably more but if they are relegated this could cut the cost. Even if they do stay up, they may be forced to sell him for less due to their financial situation.

Going forward, he really is a brilliant player but his main drawback is the amount of yellow cards he picks up. He already has 7 this season and that is already an issue that many of the West Ham squad suffer from.

Overall, it would not be a surprise if West Ham did attempt to sign Gibbs-White in the Summer – especially if Paqueta does end up going to Manchester City. While it certainly isn’t a like for like, it would be a pretty good replacement for their Brazilian magnifico.
