West Ham have eyed up Nottingham Forest double to bolster their attack for next season.

Recent reports suggested that West Ham could look to capitalise on Nottingham Forest’s financial struggles, and potential relegation, by signing Morgan Gibbs-White in the Summer transfer window.

However, it now seems like the Hammers could do a double swoop for both him and Taiwo Awoniyi, according to Soccer Net. The Nigerian has scored 6 goals and assisted a further 3 this season.

With Michail Antonio’s dip in form over the past couple of seasons, it is clear to see why West Ham have shown interest in signing a striker. Awoniyi possesses many similar attributes to the Jamaican, and he could end up being a brilliant like-for-like.

His goal scoring record may not be anything to write home about, but it’s been better than the majority of West Ham strikers in recent years and he’s done so in a struggling Forest side.

Overall, there seems to be little risk in signing Awoniyi. He has all the makings to suit Moyes system, assuming he the Scotsman is still in charge next season. Signing both him and Gibbs-White on the cheap would be incredibly good business, but it is hard to imagine the Hammers will be able to do so without competition.
