The potential sale of a struggling duo could be extremely good news for West Ham.

It is no secret that the centre-backs are a weak point in West Ham’s strong squad. Mavropanos may be finally finding his consistency, but Zouma and Aguerd are major concerns. The skipper’s repeated knee injuries are having a detrimental impact on his mobility, while the Moroccan has just never managed to demonstrate the ability he clearly possesses week in week out.

Interestingly though, a recent report from HITC states that both of them could end up leaving for the most ideal destination, for West Ham at least – Saudi Arabia.

“HITC also understands the Saudi Pro League have a strong interest in both Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd.”

“The latter only joined the club during the summer of 2022, but he has struggled for form during his time in East London.”

Everyone knows about the seemingly endless supply of money Saudi Arabian clubs have to spend, if the Hammers were to sell either/both of them then they may be able to maximise their incomings by selling to the Saudi Pro League. This would allow them to bring in quality replacements without having to worry about breaching PSR – something that is undoubtedly going to have a massive impact on every club’s transfer window.
