West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta was forced off with injury whilst playing for Brazil, with ExWHUEmployee providing an update.

The Hammers record signing from Lyon last summer, has impressed greatly in the last few months of the campaign having taken time to adjust to the demands of the Premier League.

Paqueta though has shown of late he is well equipped to be big success in East London and there is quite rightly much excitement over what he could go on to achieve at West Ham.

There has been cause for concern though with Paqueta being forced to leave the field of played in the 74th minute whilst playing in a 4-2 loss for Brazil against Senegal.

The Hammers playmaker left holding his shoulder and collarbone, which was a worrying sight for all connected with the club, however Ex has shed light on how the situation currently stands.

“It appears that whilst the player has strained some muscles in his neck it doesn’t appear to be too serious and isn’t a broken bone,” added Ex

“The player has now gone on holiday and hasn’t required any surgery. He has been given treatments to aid his recovery but it is thought that he should have recovered in time for the start of preseason.”
