West Ham are close to confirming the final pre-season schedule with a European trip being mooted, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers are coming off the back of a historic time for the club, with West Ham capping off the previous campaign with European glory after lifting the Europa Conference League trophy in Prague having overcome Fiorentina in the final.

Despite the fact the party of the victory is set to continue for some time, attention of course is moving towards next season and how our club will be shaping up with another European venture on the horizon with West Ham once again in the Europa League.

The pre-season period is set to commence in a couple of weeks’ time, and ExWHUEmployee has advised that the club are close to finalising the fixtures ahead of the new season.

“West Ham have been negotiating their final preseason fixture which is due to take place on the 5th August,” revealed Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“This fixture is historically reserved for a home tie labelled the Betway Cup. A number of European Teams have been spoken to. It is rumoured, although not officially confirmed yet, that West Ham will conclude their preseason build up, before their first game away at Bournemouth on 12th August, with a trip to Germany to play Bayer Leverkusen.

“The match is said to be hosted at the Bay Arena and will give the club some European practise ahead of the Europa League campaign. Another interesting twist with this potential fixture is that the leading candidate for the football/technical director role is Tim Steidten who left Bayer Leverkusen in March, who is expected to be appointed within the next week although there was last minute talks with another candidate.

“It is also rumoured that we could be about to confirm a fixture against Nice at the same time we play Stade Rennais on the 29th July, the squad would be divided between the two matches.”
