West Ham have received bid for Declan Rice from Manchester City with the Citizens ramping up their pursuit to rival Arsenal for his signature.

It is widely expected that our captain will depart East London this summer and the club have been resolute in making sure that a deal to prize Rice away has to work for West Ham, with a reported £120m valuation set early on.

To date our Hammers have received 3 official bids in total for the England midfielder, with Arsenal seeing their first 2 offers rejected immediately, and now Manchester City awaiting the verdict from their first official approach which was made last night.

Our famed club insider and Podcast co-host ExWHUEmployee has confirmed that the offer from the Premier League champions is believed to be in the region of £80m plus £10m in add-ons. However, a key aspect is the timeline of payment instalments, with West Ham wanting monies received in a shorter time frame than what has been reportedly proposed by Arsenal to date.

“Seeing as it is City’s first bid and David Sullivan believes he can get more for the player, we would estimate (but don’t know factually yet) that it would get rejected, but we will let you know as soon as we hear,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“The instalments will also be a crucial factor, with Manchester City reportedly being able to pay more upfront than Arsenal.

“Declan Rice is happy to speak to Manchester City again to see if they can come up with an agreeable deal, but of course the bid has to be accepted by West Ham.”

It is now expected that Arsenal will now make their third offer for Rice, with the Gunners currently in danger of losing out on their top target this summer.
