West Hams current Head of Recruitment Rob Newman has his future in doubt following the arrival of new Technical Director Tim Steidten, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers are in the midst of an overhaul this summer, with the highly sought-after Steidten joining the club whilst we have the highly anticipated sale of captain Declan Rice still in the negotiation phase.

There is a sense that the club is set to steer in a new direction, with Steidten set to implement his data driven methods when in comes to player recruitment, this however has cast significant doubt over the future of Rob Newman, who joined West Ham back in 2021.

“I am extremely proud to be joining West Ham United, at such an exciting time in this Club’s incredible history,” stated Steidten following his recent appointment. “Building on the Club’s recent European success, there is already a fantastic team in place, but also so much ambition – from the Board, the Manager, his staff and the players – to continue succeeding, developing and growing. I cannot wait to play a key part in that.”

One aspect from the statement that was clearly missing was the mention of Newman, who ExWHUEmployee has now advised could see his role come to an end soon in East London.

“Rob Newmans future is very uncertain,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast. “In Tim Steidtens annoucment from the club there was no mention of Newman.

“It is clear that his powers have been significantly reduced, and I would say its probably not worth staying on for his career progression.

“The club could now be looking at a severance package.”
