West Ham have agreed a fee and payment structure with Arsenal over the transfer of Declan Rice, it has been confirmed by ExWHUEmployee.

It has been widely expected for some time that Rice would depart East London this summer, with both Arsenal and Manchester City registering serious interest in the England midfielder.

After a period of negotiations over the time frame and structure of the payments was finally agreed upon, our club insider Ex has now confirmed that a medical is now arranged, with Rice’s departure nearing its conclusion.

“He will have a medical on Friday we believe with the deal expected to be completed then and then announced in the following days,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

Much credit will go to the club who have stood strong over the terms of the deal, with Arsenal now paying the fee in shorter period than they had originally intended.

“The fee is said to be £100m plus £5m add-on’s,” added Ex. “But repayments over a lot shorter period of time than originally offered.”

Ex has also reported that the fee will be paid over a 2 year period, rather than 4 years which was proposed by the Gunners.

The agreement will be met by most as a relief and an element of excitement, as West Ham can now turn attentions to strengthening the squad ahead of the new season, with offers for new players now set to be formally made.
