West Ham defender Ben Johnson claimed his 2nd winners medal this season when England U21’s won the European Championships.

In what was a dramatic finale against Spain in Georgia, with James Trafford saving a dying seconds pentacle for the  Three Lions, England claimed the crowd.

Johnson, although an unused substitute in the final, will be claiming another winners medal following our Hammers heroics in Prague when winning the Europa Conference League.

Our Podcast co-host and famed club insider ExWHUEmployee was understandably delighted for Johnson and the U21 side for claiming the first Euro U21 championship win almost 40 years.

“I am really pleased for the next generation of England players to have this success,” stated Ex.

“Hopefully it develops a winning mentality for them which some of them can carry into the senior squad.  I am also happy for Ben Johnson, whilst he didn’t get on in the final he still picks up his second winners medal after becoming a champion of Europe with us!”

The West Ham Way share the joy in seeing Johnson and the U21’s historic victory last night.
