West Ham have agreed a fee for James Ward-Prowse with the club aiming for the midfielder to make his debut this weekend, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers have been in pursuit of the Southampton captain all summer, with 2 bids previously rejected, however clauses have been made to the latest offer of around £30m which the Saints have deemed acceptable to allow the transfer to materialise.

“The fee is said to be around £30-£35m as well with clauses that Southampton deem acceptable,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “Wages and personal terms are not expected to be a problem and again the player is keen to join.”

Ex has further reported that the club are now eager to get the deal completed in time for Ward-Prowse to be available for selection this Saturday, when West Ham face Bournemouth on the south coast for our Premier League season opener.

“The player has been very keen to move and the club hope to get a medical completed and the final terms done so he can feature on the South Coast for us against Bournemouth,” added Ex.

The player will need to be registered by 12pm on Friday to be available for selection against Bournemouth.

The club are also set to announce the signing of Edson Alvarez, with the Mexican international completing a medical yesterday and likely to be in the squad for when we face the Cherries this weekend.
