West Ham are continuing to pursue Cole Palmer of Manchester City as a top target this summer, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The England U21 international, who recently scored a stunning strike against Arsenal in the Community Shield, is understood to be available to purchase by the reining Premier League champions.

Manchester City have already made a bid for Lucas Paqueta, and are expected to follow up with a return high value offer which could fall in the remit for West Ham to accept.

Dialogue is ongoing between our Hammers and the Citizens, with Palmer also a key talking point as West Ham aim to secure the signing of the attacking midfielder.

David Moyes admitted at the weekend that he is considering moving Jarrod Bowen into a striker position, which could allow the likes of Palmer, should he sign, be utilised on the right side of our midfield/ attack.

It has since been reported by Ex that following initial talks, Manchester City are more open to selling the 21 year old rather than loan.

“Cole Palmer is a top target for us this summer,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast. “He is a player we have admired for a long time, as we first reported back in April.

“At this stage it’s understood the talks are surrounding a permanent deal rather than  a loan.”
