West Ham are highly likely to continue talks over the possible signing of Mohammed Kudus from Ajax, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Our Hammers have identified the Ghanaian international as a top target this summer, and so far have been unable to agree a fee with the Dutch giants, whom we recently did business with over the successful purchase of Edson Alvarez.

It has been widely reported that an initial offer for Kudus was rejected by Ajax, although Ex has subsequently reported that the gap in valuation for the player isn’t considered too large.

“At this stage no deal has been agreed,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon. “Although its understood that the gap currently is around £3-5m.

“A difference of that kind of figure would usually get sorted, whether it be meeting somewhere in the middle, or adding in clauses or maybe paying fees in a shorter period of time.

“I would say as of now its unlikely that the deal is off, and I would say it likely that talks will resume with a revised bid being submitted.”

Ex has reported though that West Ham may also look at alternatives, although that could well be a way to make Ajax shift their current stance and come to the table with a lesser figure in mind.

“As we have seen previously with West Ham, it could be that we explore alternative targets, however this could be a tactic to help speed up talks with Ajax for securing a deal for Kudus.”

The player also made a comment on Edson Alvarez’s social media post following our London derby victory over Chelsea, congratulating his former teammate – suggesting a positive relationship with the Mexican which also could help tempt the player to move to east London this summer.
