West Ham are re-starting talks over potential new deals for players who’s current contracts are near to expiring, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The club have been working on player contracts throughout much of the season, with Jarrod Bowen penning a stunning 7-year deal back in October, although talks with others have so far failed to result in a positive outcome, as of yet.

Ben Johnson is a player who has seen his importance to David Moyes’ side rise considerably in recent months, with some outstanding displays when called upon by the Scot, as he’s showcased his versatility in being able to perform well in a number of positions.

Johnson has been regarded by many as a right-back, however his capabilities have shown he can step in at centre back, left back and most recently in midfield and too on the right-wing, as he was deployed at the weekend against Manchester United.

The Academy graduate, who has been the club since the age of seven, put in a solid performance and was quite rightly applauded by many, with fans now hoping to see the club secure the player on a new long term deal.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Podcast, our club insider ExWHUEmployee has advised that the club are now set to ramp up talks in the hope a new deal can be agreed upon, with Divin Mubuma also a priority for the club in these new round of talks.

“West Ham are set to re-start talks with both Johnson and Mubuma,” stated Ex. “Johnson has shown recently how important he is to the side, and we understand the talks will resume in the next couple of weeks.

“Mubuma is the same, he’s a player the club want to retain, so there is hope both deals can be agreed and signed. The club will work to get these done, with the next few weeks very important.”
