West Ham have rearranged the decision to award David Moyes a new contract, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The future of the Hammers manager has been in question for a number of months, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the current season.

Following what was a positive start to the season, which then also saw the club qualify for the knockout stages of the Europa League – it was anticipated that the Scot was on course for a contract renewal, with the manager himself stating talks were progressing well.

However, form has significantly dipped since the turn of the year, with West Ham without a victory in the 7 matches played in all competitions, which saw the club exit the FA Cup to the hands of Championship side Bristol City.

Furthermore, the frustrations in east London turned to anger at the weekend with a humiliating display against London rivals Arsenal, which saw the Gunners claim a 6-0 win at the London Stadium – our heaviest defeat since 1963.

Recent events have subsequently seen a shift from the West Ham hierarchy, who now have doubts over whether Moyes is the right man to lead the club forward, with our club insider Ex reporting that the boss has been warned that results and performances must improve.

“Understandably, there are some serious doubts over David Moyes,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Podcast. “We have spoken with the very top and it was said: ‘Whilst David Moyes is statistically the best manager in what he’s delivered for the club, its clear his style is not appreciated.’

“We know the Chairman is very aware of the discontent amongst the fans, hes not on social media but is very well informed of what is happening.”

Ex went on to confirm that talks over a new deal have now been delayed, with the recent results and displays the key factor in the club not wanting to commit to an extension over Moyes’ current contract.

“A new deal for Moyes is not close,” added Ex. “Results and performances have put any planned talks back, and the manager of course has been warned things must improve fast.

“The objective was to retain Moyes, and the club are known to want to stay loyal to the manager, however we can confirm options are being assessed. Tim Steidten will be looking at alternatives as the club plan ahead, although that is to be expected.”

Ex did stress that there at this stage no immediate plans to remove Moyes from his post, however they will expect to see a quick improvement on results and performances.
