There has been much speculation surrounding the future of Tim Steidten this week, with ExWHUEmployee providing his view on the situation.

Our Hammers Techical Director, who joined the club in July last after a very successful spell in Germany with Bayer Leverkusen, is reportedly attracted interest from Premier League title chasers Liverpool.

According to reports, the German has been shortlisted by the Merseyside club as a potential Director of Football this summer, as the Reds begin their overhaul with Jurgen Klopp and his team set to depart at the end of the season.

Steidten himself stated when talking to Sky Germany that he had heard the rumours of the interested, but also insisted he is happy with his role at West Ham.

We asked our Podcast co-host and club insider ExWHUEmployee his views on the situation, with our man in the know certainly not at this stage feeling much concern over any possible departure.

“I am not sure how much substance there is to this claim that Liverpool are keen,” stated Ex. “Firstly the club have not received any contact from Liverpool to suggest this and I think the timing of the news (when we have just had a frustrating window with a number of Steidten’s choices not bought) is questionable.

“The obvious link for Liverpool would be Alonso possibly taking over at the club next season and he would want Tim, but for now I think that’s all it is.”

Ex will keep fans posted of all club matters on The West Ham Way Patreon, however regarding Steidten, it appears for now it’s something not to be overly concerned about.
