West Ham are in a brilliant position to spend big this Summer due to low operating losses.

With their already thin squad looking almost certain to get thinner, West Ham need a big window. However, there had been concerns that this would not be possible due to having a limited budget in January. Thankfully, it looks like this they will be in a better position than most clubs financially.

PSR has caused almost all Premier League clubs concerns since Everton were handed their first points deduction earlier this season, West Ham included. Surprisingly, their recently revealed operating losses are the second lowest in the Premier League, Claret and Hugh reports.

They had a loss of just £12 million (not including player sales) with Brentford (the only team to make a profit) being the only team better off.

Hopefully, this combined with any potential player sales should allow the board to spend big this Summer to help the Hammers sustain themselves as a European regular. As well all know though, having the money to spend is one thing, spending it correctly is a completely different matter but with Tim Steidten leading the way there is every reason to be confident that this will be done.
